Ac-repair-company

Imagine it’s one of the hottest days of the summer. You woke up sweating buckets and tried to adjust the setting on your AC, only to realize that it’s not working! You pick up your phone to contact the AC technicians, and you find out that no one is available!

However, do you believe that you could fix easy AC problems by yourself? Yes, you can! Save a few hundred dollars and enjoy a little independence all at once.

Cannot switch on the AC? Here’s how

One of the most common problems people encounter is this one. The AC fails to start. There are a few reasons why this could happen, but the solutions are simple. Checking your breaker panel first would give you a direction to begin.

A clogged drain line or faulty overflow shut off switch could also be the reason. Once you ensure that these lines are clear and working as they should, you’re good to go!

The AC is not blowing cold air

A frozen coil is one of the leading reason behind ACs not blowing cold air. There are many causes for a frozen coil such as an insufficient refrigerant or restricted airflow because of a dirty filter. But this also an issue that you can resolve on your own!

All you need to do is switch the AC off and run the fan on auto. That will melt the ice and give you the chance to check air filter for any dirt or obstructions. Once the evaporator coil is clear, and none of the registers are blocked. Your AC will start working as usual.

However, if the issue persists, it could be because of little refrigerant.

The room smells weird

We’ve all been at the spot when you switch the AC on, and a foul smell engulfs the entire house. This can be caused by the infestation of bacteria in the HVAC box. Pets or nesting birds could all lead to this. Or even a leaking antifreeze. You never know.

If you find the outside of your unit damaged, you should directly inform the AC repair company near you, and they will help you to the best of our abilities.

Inadequate cooling

AC units need maintenance to keep running smoothly. Another one of the standard AC problems could be a leaking refrigerant. An average AC is built to maintain the temperature difference up to 23 degrees. So if you find a disturbed charge or frozen coil, you can solve this issue, but you need to keep in mind that your house won’t feel like 45 degrees when its 90 degrees outside.

You can avoid spending a lot on AC repairs if you keep your units well maintained. Keep the batteries of your thermostat checked. Often worn off batteries become the cause of a faulty thermostat. Consistent filter changes is a little cost as compared to more significant repairs. A good cleaning would avoid and ice or dirt accumulation in the ducts which would prevent problems.

You can solve many more AC related problems on your own. All you need is a little interest in mechanics. If you find yourself stuck in a situation that you cannot tackle on your own, do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help you!
