Best Windshield Wipers Review
When should I change the wipers?
The windshield wiper, it’s a janitor, is an important element of driving safety during rain or snow. Faulty janitors make the control of the car uncomfortable and extremely dangerous. As experienced auto instruments determine that it’s time to change the wipers, we’ll tell you in today’s article.
What determines the time to replace the wipers?
When teaching driving, experienced auto instructors introduce future drivers not only about the functioning of the car as a whole but also about the work of its components, in particular, the janitors. Their operation depends on the serviceability of the rubber lining (gum) and the frame.
Replacement of windscreen wipers is also necessary if its blades on elastic bands are damaged.
When the entire metal “hand” that holds the janitor is bent or broken, it is recommended to replace it entirely. By the way, this procedure is not particularly difficult, because here you just need to put on the “hand” on the nut.
If appropriate in accordance with certain regulations, brush wipers, experts advise being changed every six months, that is, before the start of winter and summer seasons.
Additional wiper wear checks
It is possible to determine whether it is necessary to change the windshield wipers using the following simple checks.
- Turn on the wipers, let them work and see if they leave traces on the glass. If they are not available, or they are, but only on the edge of the windshield, and the bands are not more than three, then in the near future one can not make a replacement. But if in the central part you notice at least one strip or more than six on the edges, then it’s time to put new wipers.
- The most critical option is when the wipers should be changed as quickly as possible – the brushes leave large water stains which, due to vibration, make the image fuzzy.
Today, classic and relatively inexpensive wipers are not in vogue. They were replaced by frameless devices that tightly press against the glass and are distinguished by excellent aerodynamics – in the summer.
Wipers with a skeleton work best in winter but in a casing. The frame plays the role of a stiffener and does not allow to reduce the fitting effect to the glass even in severe frosts.
