The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main is a national-level engineering entrance exam to offer admissions in undergraduate programs of several NITs, IITs, and CFTIs. After qualifying in JEE Main, candidates can then appear for JEE Advanced. It is one of the most famous entrance exams in India, and more than 10 lakh candidates register for the exam every year.
The registration for JEE Main 2019 can only be done online from the official website of JEE Main (www.jeemain.nic.in). If you are planning to register for JEE Main online, some of the most important things that you should know about the process are discussed below-
Changes in Pattern of JEE Main 2019 Exam
The JEE Main exam was earlier divided into two categories- JEE Main Paper 1 for B.Tech/B.E. and JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Planning/B.Arch. However, now the candidates are expected to appear for one exam only, and instead of yearly, the exam will be held biannually. The first one will be held in the first week of January 2019 and the second one in the second or third week of April 2019.
Availability of JEE Main 2019 Application Form
The first JEE Main 2019 application form is expected to be released on 1st September 2018 while the second one is expected to be released in second week of February 2019. The registration process generally lasts for up to a month and you would be required to submit your application by 30th September 2018 for the first one, and the date for the second is not yet given. The CBSE/NTA is yet to announce the exact dates.
JEE Main Application Fee
The application fee for male candidates for the General/OBC category who want to appear is different than those for OBC and female candidates. The amount is not yet declared. Once the application process begins, the fee can be paid online through debit/credit card or offline through e-Challan. Please keep in mind, that GST of 0.75% is applicable on the fees (if it is below Rs. 2000/-) and you are requested to calculate the amount at the time of making the payment.
Filling the JEE Main 2019 Application Form
For JEE Main 2019 registration, the candidates would be required to visit the official JEE Main website. On the application form, the candidates would be required to enter personal details, educational qualifications, and details of their ID proof. Special attention should be given to the mobile number, and email address that one enters on this form as all the future communication will be done through mobile SMS and email.
Enrolling for the Exam
After submitting the form, the candidates would be required to submit a scanned copy of their photograph and signature. This will be followed by online payment of application fee, which candidates need to pay as per their gender, category, and the exam they want to appear for.
After successful payment of the examination fee, the candidates would receive a confirmation through SMS and email. Admit card for the exam is expected to be released a few weeks before the date of examinations in 2019.
